How to deactivate the debug mode in VMware 6.5 Beta [Solution]

Recently I have replaced my VMware 6.0 with the new 6.5 beta version which -- unfortunately -- comes with a debug only mode. As the debug mode slows down the performance drastically, you can try the following workaround:


mv /usr/lib/vmware/bin/vmware-vmx-debug /usr/lib/vmware/bin/vmware-vmx-debug.slow;
mv /usr/lib/vmware/bin/vmware-vmx /usr/lib/vmware/bin/vmware-vmx-debug


However the beta performs still significantly worser than the current stable version of VMware. And the CPU fan of my notebook switches into hurricane mode...

The unity feature -- which makes it possible to embed guest OS applications into the host OS -- is really nice but also quite slow.
